The Sapiranga reserve, home of the last areas of the Mata Atlanta (original jungle), is situated between Praia do Forte and Itacimirim, on the banks of the Pojuca river.

Going up stream in a small boat where you can see the mangrove swamps and take a walk through the jungle to observe tropical plants, monkeys and birds.

An attractive little restaurant just above the river provides us with a lunch and offers the possibility to do some water sport activities like line zipping and canoeing.
