Mangue Seco 150km north of Itacimirim is on a peninsula with forms the border between the Bahia and Sergipe states.

It is a unique reserve with white dunes, palm trees, mangroves and cashew trees. It is also famous in Brazil as the setting of the movie and TV soap Tieta, based on the novel of Jorge Amado.
